Children and young people can also buy day tickets for 19 francs, which allows them to travel without their parents.

The cost of a journey on most means of transport is calculated according to the duration and popularity of a connection.
For example, it’s worth using the Swiss Travel Pass for the Zurich – Bern – Zurich route, which only takes 1 hour each way.
The Zurich – Schaffhausen – Zurich route, on the other hand, which is just as long, is only worth using one day of the Swiss Travel Pass if other means of transport (streetcar in Zurich, a boat trip on the Rhine) are used on the same day.

Class changes are possible and make sense if the Swiss TRavel Pass is purchased in second class, but travel in first class is necessary for a particular route.
