After this afternoon you will get to know through practice: Yoga, with teacher Vicky Baderna, Pilates with instructor Mariana Taffarel, and Meditation practice with Luci, a tourism professional and practitioner of Zen Buddhism. The location, carefully chosen by us, is one of the forests surrounding the city of Zurich, making this a beautiful opportunity and easily accessible.
In this immersion we share our expertise with you, combining knowledge of Yoga and Pilates, along with body and breathing exercises that can be used later, add knowledge about this little piece of Zurich, and promote a few hours of sharing to welcome the beginning of spring.
Committed to the whole process of the experience as a whole, we will send you all the information about what to wear and bring on the day, as well as tips for a diet in line with our afternoon.
What you need to know about the experience:
About the facilitators that will be with you during this afternoon:
Vicky – teacher and eternal student is a devotee of yoga since 2017. She came in close contact with the practice in Zurich and graduated as a Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga teacher in a traditional Ashram in Rishikesh, India, the birthplace of Yoga. Today he conducts daily practices in several studios in the city, in addition to classes recorded on his Youtube channel. For her, movement quiets the mind and opens the perception to self-knowledge, even if it’s not a planned action, and can be beneficial both for those who are just looking for a physical activity and for those who want to open the doors of their being and unleash old patterns that are no longer interesting for the mind and body in the present moment. Vicky will guide Yoga practices: Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara (movements, postures, breathing techniques, and inner attention) for all body types.
Mariana – Pilates instructor on the floor and on equipment, and Zen meditation practitioner. He loves to dance. Movement as a form of artistic expression has been part of her routine since she was a child. She danced classical ballet until she was 17 and has been practicing various styles of dance and movement for 20 years. He met Pilates in 2011 through a physical therapist. When he moved to Switzerland, he noticed that Pilates is predominantly practiced there as a regular physical activity, and he wanted to try it. During and after the Pilates classes, I felt an immense well-being. In 2021, he took the comprehensive teacher training in Pilates at the Body Arts and Science International (BASI Pilates Academy) in Zurich. Since then, it has provided its students with greater mobility, muscular strength, body awareness, and pain relief, in sessions on the equipment or on the floor. Mari will guide standing Pilates practices, combining breath and concentration to create a flow and practice the meditative aspect of movement.
Luci – is unashamedly in love with the city of Zurich and is driven by a passion for passing on historical and cultural knowledge through her experiences. His experience in tourism begins on Brazilian soil, when he works for Infraero at the Int. of Recife, in 2000. In Zurich he is training at IST in Tourism and has accumulated extensive experience in the field since 2008. He has his first contact with Zen Buddhism in Recife (2001), but it is in Switzerland, through the practice with the Monks Jorge Koho and Marge Daien that he deepens and takes its precepts (2012) with the teacher Monja Coen Roshi. Luci will give a brief introduction to Zen Buddhism and will facilitate in this meeting the practice of a specific meditation, which requires no previous knowledge, is for anyone and independent of religious practice.
